We began our business in 1988 with 26 cows on a 160 acre
farm near Glencoe, MN. (50 miles west of Minneapolis) Glenmark
Genetics, Inc has expanded to 250 acres and now has a 52 cow
tie-stall dairy barn & a world wide genetics operation.
We milk 70 cows twice daily. Our herd milk production is 25,557-M,
965-F, 812-P
Current milking daughters in our herd are BW Marshall, Addison,
Garter, and MTOTO. Our top donor cows are now being
flushed to Goldwyn September Storm, and Shuttle.
Heifers are usually bred to calving ease sires with good
quality type or are used for recipients for our ET program.
The results is the development of cows with correct balance
and type qualities (feet, legs, udder and strength) that lend
to higher milk production levels.
We love to be “hands on” and work with good cows
day-in and day-out. By continuing our dedicated work with
registered Holsteins on our Glencoe farm
and focusing on the areas of Young Stock Management, Milk
Production, Embryo & Semen Marketing, & Quality Breeding
Stock, we hope to make our mark in the future
of breeding good cattle.
We are active exhibitors at local and state Holstein shows
and at World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI. We are participants
as purchasers and sellers at state and national shows.
In the year 2000, Glenmark Genetics & Bonnie Mohr Studio
hosted a state wide June Dairy celebration with MN Governor
Jesse Ventura and over 3000 other visitors in attendance.
Our family consists of 5 children, our oldest now a teenager
and the youngest a toddler. They help with the typical dairy
farm chores and love 4-H. Also living with us is an international
trainee or two here in the United States to learn progressive
dairy farming techniques.
